Come and Gone

This past Thursday Grayson turned 6 weeks old. He is growing up so fast. He is eating 4-5 ounces at each feeding and he is starting to sleep in five hour stretches at night. We are still working out a routine in terms of his naps but for right now he dictates how often and when he wants to sleep during the day. He is growing like a weed and I can't wait to see big he has gotten at his 8 week appointment. I do know that he is over 10 pounds now and, get this, his head is growing! You would expect it to grow but Brayden's never did so I like to see proof in numbers...I may be driving the staff at Ped's East crazy but they are still smiling at me when I come through the door so I guess that's good ;)

I go back to work tomorrow and BJ begins his paternity leave tomorrow as well. Mr. Mom is on duty! I am nervous and anxious about tomorrow but I know that once I get into a routine everything will be fine. I am going to give everyone, family and friends, fair warning that when I get home from work that baby is mine so don't plan any visits to my house after 4:00pm. Thanks ;)

I am a horrible mother...I haven't taken that many pictures. Sorry! Here is a picture from our first visit to the zoo. He slept through it and it was hot but we have the nice memories. :)

Just a quick side note...we have discovered that Grayson does not like and will not tolerate formula. He literally acts like I am trying to kill him. So I guess I am going to have to step up my pumping since we are already dipping into my frozen stash so he has plenty when I am at work.

First Play Date!

Grayson had his first play date this week with his new best friend Baby Barrett and his mommy Rachel! Okay, really it was shopping date for the mommies but the babies enjoyed themselves anyway. Did you know that shopping is great exercise? Not only to walk off those extra baby pounds but also a great workout for the wallet. No but seriously my legs were sore! To many weeks on bed rest...

Barrett and Grayson...enjoying their rides!
We are looking forward to many more play dates in our future with baby Barrett and his mommy Rachel!

4 Week Check Up

Grayson is doing well and growing like a weed! At his last appointment he weighed in at 9 pounds and 4 ounces and was pronounced healthy. The week before we had a scare with some stomach issues that involved his small intestines. After many tests, the issue has been resolved and he is okay with a few adjustments in what I am eating and a medication for him. I would go into more detail but right now I would assume forget the whole experience. It was way to much to deal with and way to similar to all the medical issues and experiences we had with Brayden. He is okay and that is all that matters. Here are some random pictures I've taken over the last few weeks.
My baby's got mad skills ;)

Belly button came off a week or two ago. What you think? I am thinking an outie.

Despite that distressed look on his face, he really does like to take a bath.

Helping mommy with the laundry by resting quietly on the bed while I folded.

All clean, soft, and fluffy after my bath! I just want to squeeze him!!!

I can never see this face enough!

I should be napping...

I should be napping while I have this quiet break but I felt I have neglected my blog long enough.
Grayson is doing very well. His mom and dad are very tired but that is par for the course.  He is 8 pounds now and eating well. We finally got him sleeping a little better at night but  he is battling gas pains now and since his mommy can't figure out what she is eating to cause it, we are just trying to work through it.

I have been feeling pretty decent since the c-section. I have been amazed how quickly I have been able to bounce back. I have, however, completely forgotten  the lack of sleep that comes with a baby. How could I forget something like that? I think God has a sense of humor.  Overall though Grayson is a much better sleeper than his brother so I am thankful for that. He is starting to wake up so I will leave you with some photos from his newborn photo shoot...

Invasions of the Baby Touchers!!

I wonder why complete strangers think it is perfectly acceptable to touch my newborn baby. Seriously?!?!?

I know that he is cute, and small, and adorable...trust me, you are preaching to the choir, but why would you presume that it is okay to touch him. He is a newborn baby people!!

I need a revolving sign that I can attach to my baby that says...

Back up complete stranger!
Look but don't touch.
I was born early and don't need your nasty germs!
My mom will bite you!

Whew! Okay I feel better now. Thanks! ;)
